An unknown customer just bought this image of a 1953 Studebaker as a t-shirt. (TeePublic, who prints my t-shirts, won’t give me amy information about the people who buy my work.)

A customer in California bought this image as an 8×10 inch print. This Studebaker may well be one of my favorite photos.

2026 Calendar
A customer in New Jersey bought this 2026 calendar featuring grain elevators I have photographed around Idaho. This is the first of my 2026 Calendars to sell
What’s Happening
This should go out on Thanksgiving Day in the U.S. For much of the country this is a day of gathering together with family and/or friends, eating way too much, possibly drinking way too much, and falling asleep in front of a football game on tv.
Kevin and I won’t be doing any of that. Well, Kevin may watch football, but I won’t join him. I may have a glass of wine with dinner, but nothing more, and Kevin doesn’t drink anything stronger than Pepsi.
As for dinner,, we have a turkey breast in the fridge, pumpkin and apple pies, and we’ll probably bake a potato or two. Nothing fancy.
Being Thankful
There are many things for which I am thankful this year. What follows is just a partial list, and for the most part in no particular order.
Fish–tropical and other
I am thankful for my three aquaria and the 54 fish resident in them. One tank has 20 “feeder” size goldfish. In our care they will never be used for food for other critters. I expect them to grow quite large over the next several years, and they brighten my day every time I see them swimming around.
I also enjoy watching the 5 angel fish and 2 small pleckos in the tank that sits between the organ and the fireplace. And the very large plecko in the tank just outside our bedroom never fails to entertain me. (As do his tank mates.)
My eyes
This Tuesday, I met with my retina specialist who was very pleased with what he found; “Whatever you are doing, keep it up.” Working on my computer and reading on my Kindle, was my response I hope I can keep doing both for long, long time. I am so grateful to have my eyesight.
Family and Friends
In 2007 I was able to spend several months with cousins, some of whom I had never met. Since then I have made several trips to West Virginia, and cousin Ron has made three trips to Montana. I was last there in October when Cousin Sharon hosted my 76th birthday party. Eleven of my cousins over five generations helped me celebrate. I sm so grateful to have this loving group of people in my life.
Kevin and the kids
Kevin has been in my life almost eightteen years and I cannot imagine my life without him. Over five years ago we added Simon and Taz to our family and I regularly thank them for choosing to spend the rest of their lives with us. I know that there are people who don;t consider four-legged creatures “family.” They are entitled to their opinion, no matter how wrong they are.
You
I remain grateful to all of you who purchase my photography in whatever form. And I really appreciate those of you who take the time to read my weekly posts and other scribblings I offer on line; Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of my life.
