LIA Newsletter 15

Welcome the LightIntoArt Newsletter 15. This issue will focus mainly on recent sales as my health issues have kept me from adding much in the way of new listings for sale. It is also a day late because yesterday was a medical day–I had two appointments in Missoula which had me away from home from 8 am to 6 pm. A long day with mixed results. More on that below.
New Listings

This is not, strictly speaking, a new listing. Rather it is one that was due for renewal, but it seemed better to me that I completely redo the listing, with a new title, description, tags, etc. Maybe now it will get more traction.

What’s Going On
I took most of the past week off, with what I’m calling “sick leave.” I alluded to the problem in last week’s newsletter, and I see I was feeling even worse that I realized as I just left off in the middle of a sentence–and didn’t catch that when proofreading.
Long story short, while I was in West Virginia last month, the left side of my jaw started hurting. Not 24/7 but enough that when I got home, I made an appointment to see my dentist.
Adventures in Dentistry
The dentist took a series of x-rays and also a cat scan of my mouth. Good news! There didn’t seem to be anything wrong with my teeth or gums. Hooray! But my jaw still hurts.
The dentist guessed that I had either a sinus infection or an infection in place where my root canal (yes, I’ve had only one) hadn’t fully healed. He sent me off with a prescription for Amoxicillin and a promise to refer me to a specialist if the pain continued.
More Adventures
The antibiotic did nothing to solve the pain issue. It did upset my stomach, which made it hard for me to sit at my computer and get any work done. Hence the “sick leave” I mentioned above. I can sit in my recliner and read, but I cannot, comfortably, sit at the computer.
Which brings us to yesterday
My dentist did refer me to a specialist–two in fact. The first couldn’t see me until January and did not accept my insurance wanting to be paid upfront. I opted for the second, the one who saw me yesterday
He used my dentist’s x-rays, but did his own cat scans. He tapped on my teeth, sent ice cold water against them, and in the end, “guessed” that I need a root canal. Maybe two. A root canal costs $2.000 and maybe my insurance will pay 60%. Seems to be a lot of out-of-pocket expense to see if the doc’s guess is right. Or not. More to come on that front.
Updates from last week
- I have requested my money back on the video production software I bought. I never got it to work, and the customer support was all but nonexistent.
- We now have 54 fish in our 3 aquaria. Our blue crayfish crawled out from his hiding place and died. Sic transit, and all that. The rest of the fish seem to be doing just fine.
