What I’m Up To

The heading above  says that this is Newsletter “Number 2.”  Yeah, it is.  I published Number 1 on January 26th, 2020.  If you’re interested, you can read it here. At that time, I promised to send out two newsletters a week. That was five and a half years ago. This is number 2. My intent now is to send one newsletter each week just to keep my friends informed of my sales, new listings, and what I’m doing with my time.

Cars and Car Shows

Many of my friends know that I am fascinated with cars, always have been, always will be. As for my photography, images I’ve taken of cars are my best sellers. For both of those reasons, I attend as many car shows as I can, camera in hand. In recent years, I’ve missed most of the area shows because of the problems I’ve had with my feet. This year I made it to two. The two cars on the left were on display last Saturday at the Libby, Montana Ignite the Nights show, the oldest and one of the largest shows in western Montana. I’ll be adding more cars to my listings and I’ll post them in this newsletter.

Travel and Travel Photography

My other great love is travel photography. Back in 1980, finding myself in Stanford, Montana, I set the goal of visiting every one of Montana’s fifty-six counties to document their county court houses. I finished that project in 2015 and turned to our next-door neighbor Idaho, then on to Washington state. By 2021, I had visited every one of Washington’s thirty-nine counties, but it was not until April of this year that I finished with Idaho.

Photos vs. Text

When I say “finished,” I mean I have taken the photographs I need. My intent with both states is to self-publish a coffee table book with my photos and text about each county.

With both states, I have blogged for each county and put those posts online. To date, I have written posts for thirty-seven of Washington’s counties, and fifteen of Idaho’s forty-four. You can find Washington here, and Idaho here.

My most recent Idaho post went online yesterday (August 20th, 2025) and covered Twin Falls County. Since the purpose of the blog (let’s be honest) is to showcase AND sell my work, I add the photos I’ve taken to my online sales galleries, whether that be Etsy, RedBubble, or FineArtAmerica. Clicking on any image or caption in this newsletter will take you to that item’s sales page. You have been warned.

So that’s where I am and what I’m doing now. I wish you the best, and will write more next week.

A 15 oz white ceramic mug showing a 1965 Mustang Fastback and the words "I'm not old, I'm Classic!"
1965 Mustang Fastback

A California woman wrote and asked if I could expedite a shipment of six of these mugs for her husband’s upcoming birthday party. Long story short, no. I explained the situation, and she decided to order them anyway. We both kept our fingers crossed and the mugs arrived the day of the party. This was her five star review:

5 out of 5 stars

Excellent customer service and the mugs were perfect for centerpieces for my husband’s 60th birthday, down to the color of the car! Would highly recommend this shop!

1953 Studebaker Commander

A woman in Pennsylvania ordered this mug on August 12th, and it is now in transit to her. This Studebaker has been one of my most popular car designs. I have it listed in four places and have sold it twenty times. It is a car I would dearly love to own.

1966 Mustang

A woman in Florida ordered this mug on August 14th, and it is in transit to her. Hers is the twenty-ninth order I’ve had for this mug.
