Location and Accessibility

Lewis Falls is located on the Lewis River, just off the South Entrance Road in Yellowstone National Park.  About 10 miles north of Yellowstone’s South Entrance,  folk driving by can see the falls from the road.  A parking area allows access to the waterfall  and to the trailhead that leads to the overlook.

The hike to the waterfall is relatively easy and takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The wtrail is well-maintained and suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. The trailhead is located at the parking area, and from there, visitors can follow the trail to get a closer view of the falls.
